DAILY ILLINOIS STATE JOURNAL Springfield, 1856-1858 This is an uncommon newspaper from Abraham Lincoln's hometown, containing on the front page an advertisement, albeit rather small, for "LINCOLN & HERNDON, Attorneys and Counselors At Law..." with just a bit more (see). The ad is nicely located close to the very center of the front page. A very desirable and early reminder of Lincoln's law practice before he would be thrust into American history forever. Also, this is likely the only newspaper in the country in which this ad could be found. Complete in four pages, bit of light foxing, in very nice condition. The image shown is representative of what you receive. Actual dates vary in the range of 1856-1858. The ad and the condition will be the same as shown.Category: Pre-Civil War
