THE DAILY CLEVELAND HERALD, June 16, 1870  The ftpg. has: "Local News" "Base Ball" "The Defeat of The Red Stockings." Included is a full column report providing many details and particulars about the defeat of the Red Stockings by the Brooklyn Atlantics. In fact, even the weather and the betting odds are described.
The defeat snapped the 84 game winning streak of the Red Stockings that began 1869. Includes the box score which shows the final score in favor of the Atlantics, 8-7.
In the next column are reports about the game from several New York papers as well as "A New Yorker's Account" that appeared in a Cincinnati paper.

A printing crease slightly affects the heads, and about seven words in the text of the other newspaper reports, otherwise the issue is in good condition. Large folio-size.
