July 19, 1804
BOSTON GAZETTE, July 19, 1804 Page 2 has the "Funeral Honors" for Alexander Hamilton which includes the "Order Of Procession" and a woodcut of the casket. Takes about half a column and mentions that the Society of Cincinnati was "...charged with the direction of the Funeral ceremonies..." There is also a second report under "General Hamiltons Funeral" plus related content under "Deep Lamentations" which includes "Particulars and highly interesting account of the Death and Funeral of General Hamilton" followed by a "Letter From The Right Reverend Bishop Moore". Also an extract of a letter about the "Fatal Duel". All columns on pgs. 2 and 3 are black-bordered, whereas the front and back pages are black-bordered at the perimeter only. Text is a bit lite in the Moore and Duel letters, some lite rubbing on the ftpg., and a bit of stray writing in the blank margin above the masthead. In nice, untrimmed condition otherwise.
