THE NEW YORK TIMES, June 15, 1954 Page 31 contains a significant report on the first column, headed: "President Hails Revised Pledge" "He Endorses Congress's Action In Inserting Words "Under God" in Allegiance Vow" "Ceremony At Capitol" "Rabaut and Ferguson Intone New Oath at Exercises Marking Flag Day" with the text taking over half a column (see for complete report).
This is a defective issue, with three of the earlier leaves having articles cut from them & a few other leaves with some knife slits, but fortunately no damage to the leaf with the mentioned content. There is also some damp staining to an upper corner.
A significant report, particularly in the context of how such issues as are debated in today's society.
