Rare to find a newspaper from This Michigan town from over 10 years before the outbreak of the Civil War. Plus, page 2 has an article headed: "From Santa Fe" which includes some troubling concerns on the creation of a government in New Mexico. Also mention that: "...The Mormon settlement upon the Great Salt Lake, north of us, are forming a state government; they are acting upon the known determination of Congress not to do any thing for them..." (see photos).
Other news of the day and many ads as well. Complete in 4 pages, never bound nor trimmed, various folds and some minor wear at the folds, geneally in nice condition.
