This 8 page newspaper is in good condition (except for a few tears near the bottom left of the front page shown in photo) due to the use of cotton and rag paper during this very historic time in U.S. history. This issue is loaded with advertisements and Civil War reports throughout from the day it was first reported which includes the following FRONT PAGE Map: "THE BATTLE OF MAYSVILLE, The Field of Operations of Generals Schofield and Blunt in Arkansas". Headlines in this issue includes: "IMPORTANT FROM ARKANSAS" "A Great Battle and Victory at Maysville" "Complete Rout of the Rebel Forces Under Hindman" "The Rebels Driven Back to the Arkansas Valley" and much more. Nice to read about the Civil War as it was happening.
