* President Grover Cleveland White House wedding
* w/ Illustration
* 1st & only President to marry in the White House
On page 3 under "The Wedding" is a detailed report about the White House wedding of President Gover Cleveland and Miss Francis Folsom. The report begins:
* "President Cleveland and Miss Francis Folsom were married in the Blue Room of the White House at Washington, on Wednesday evening last, at 7:25 o'clock....The wedding was a very modest affair....everything was in elegant style, and the White House never looked more beautiful....Not more than 30 or 40 persons witnessed the event..." and more, with many wedding particulars.
Above the report is a very nice 4 by 6 inch illustration of "President And Mrs. Cleveland." Grover Cleveland is the only President to be married at the White House, making this a rather historic issue as such.
A nice report and great to have an illustration of the bride and groom. Might be the best report about this famous White House wedding that we've seen!
Other news of the day throughout this 8 page issue. Has a small piece missing in the left margin about half an inch from the illustration, the front page has a bit lite fold foxing, otherwise the issue is in very good condition.
