THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET OR THE GENERAL ADVERTISER, Philadelphia, December 2, 1779 The front page has a "system of regulations" adopted by the "Officers of the Line and Staff in the Western Department" taking all of the last column and much of a column on page 2.
Page 2 has three items from the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, each with a postscript signed in type: Thomas Paine, Clerk of the Assembly at that time.
Much of page 3 is taken up with ads, including one announcing the publication and sale of: "A Narrative Of Colonel Ethan Allen's Captivity", plus details.
The back page is entirely taken up with ads including a: "Forty Dollars Reward" ad for a deserted man "..from the Continental Shoe Factory in the barracks of this city..." & more.
Has a very decorative masthead with ornate lettering and an engraving of a sailing ship.
Front page has an ink stain in an ad, and some lite fold foxing, a few lite stains in the left margin. Untrimmed.
