* Abraham Lincoln wins 1860 election
* President of the United States

Front page heads at the top of the first column:

* The Result
* Additional Returns from the States
* The Election Of Lincoln
* A Republican Administration and an Opposition Congress
* Names of the Candidates Chosen
* New Jersey For The Union

Includes "The Executive" winners which lists "Abraham Lincoln, of Illinois...President" "Hannibal Hamlin, of Maine...Vice President", a tally of "The Electoral Vote", the members elected to the House of Representatives and a "Classification Of The 37th Congress" by party affiliation, plus the "Returns From The State" which shows the Presidential returns for the counties in New York. Also has a list of the Senators in the State Legislature and the newly elected members of the entire Assembly.

There is also a tally of the presidential votes in Bergen County, New Jersey, and the cities and towns in Massachusetts, Rhode Island & Connecticut, plus brief reports from several other states. Of particular interest are the voting results for New York City on the proposed amendment to the state constitution concerning "negro suffrage". The results show an overwhelming number of votes against the amendment.

A brief report headed " Mr. Lincoln At Home" is datelined "Springfield, Ill., Nov. 7, 1860", and says: "This evening while the republicans were assembled at the State House, for the purpose of hearing the returns, Mr. Lincoln entered and was very enthusiastically received and congratulated by his friends...by hand-shaking, cheers and other demonstrations of joy...".

Archival mend to a minor tear in the text of the first & second leaf, some lite foxing along the fold, otherwise in very good condition.
