THE LONDON GAZETTE EXTRAORDINARY, England, July 20, 1761

* Rare 'EXTRA' issue
* Pre Rev. War from the enemy

One of the few "Extra" issues of this famous title which was published outside the normal print schedule to rush important news to their readership. The masthead is different from that normally used (see photos).

The entire front page & a bit of page 2 are taken up with a lengthy letter from Eyre Coote and the military events in India, including much on the siege of Pondicherry.. Included is a list of the captures.

Four pages, a bit irregular at the spine, but of damp staining in an upper corner, a few discrete archival mends on pg. 2. Measures 7 1/4 by 10 1/2 inches.
