Many fashion-themed prints contained within these issues, along with many prints & ads suitable for framing (see).
The issues are complete (approximately 20 pages), measure 11 3/4 by 16 3/4 inches, have a little margin wear, but otherwise are in good condition. One issue does have some damage to the last page (see).
Note: This is the famous fashion periodical subtitled: "A Repository of Fashion, Pleasure, and Instruction" from the successful publishing house of Harper Brothers. It is the oldest continuously published fashion magazine in the world which began in 1867 as a weekly illustrated journal, encompassing fashion, essays on etiquette, the arts, gardening, and other domestic concerns.
The early issues offered elegantly handy hints on living well & addressed everything from the avant-garde (trousers for women) to running a country home; the best gowns of the Newport, Rhode Island, social season; and the subtle art of facial expression. It even predicted a late-20th-century diet fad recommending red meat at almost every meal!
