THE WASHINGTON POST, Washington, D.C., August 9, 1974

* President Richard Nixon resigns
* Best title to have in

The best issues to be had for any political event would be the famous Washington Post. And this headline remains among the most historic in presidential history with a front page bold, banner head reading simply: "Nixon Resigns" and a 1 line, 6 column subhead: "Ford Assumes Presidency Today". The front page photo is captioned: "President Nixon and daughter Julie embracing Wednesday after the President's decision to resign."

This is the complete first section with 32 pages, in very nice, clean condition save for light toning at the central fold and some cracking at the left edge (spine) of this fold.

A fine opportunity for one of the more significant political headlines of the 20th century, in a Washington, D.C. newspaper.
