February 15, 1776

THE PENNSYLVANIA EVENING POST, Philadelphia, February 15, 1776

* Rare Revolutionary War title from America
* Great year to have (1776)

The entire front page is a report from London which includes some discussion of troops in America (see photos). Page 2 has a nice report headed: "Williamsburg" regarding military events, plus additional reports from New York, Providence, and Philadelphia, the latter of which includes: "...procession & funeral solemnities appointed to the memory of General Montgomery & the other brave officers & men who gloriously fought & fell with him in the cause of American Liberty, before Quebec.".

Note the page 3 ad for the printing of "Common Sense", and the interesting page 4 ad for horsemanship which includes an unusual engraving.

Various other ads, complete in 4 pages measuring about 8 by 10 inches and is in great condition. Increasingly difficult to find Philadelphia newspapers dated 1776.
