BOSTON GAZETTE, July 19, 1804 Page 2 has the "Funeral Honors" for Alexander Hamilton which includes the "Order Of Procession" and an engraving of the casket (see). The report takes half a column and mentions that the Society of Cincinnati was "...charged with the direction of the Funeral ceremonies..." (see)
There is also a second report under: "General Hamilton's Funeral" plus related content headed: "Deep Lamentations" which includes "Particulars and highly interesting account of the Death and Funeral of General Hamilton" followed by a "Letter From The Right Reverend Bishop Moore". Also an extract of a letter about the "Fatal Duel" which includes various particulars & ends with: "...very early he went out to meet Col. B. attended by Judge Pendleton as his second, to whom on their way, he declared that he should not fire at Col. B. as he had not the most distant wish to kill him.....General H. fell and declared he was a dead man." (see)
All columns on pgs. 2 and 3 are black-bordered, whereas the front and back pages are black-bordered at the perimeter only. Four pages, a piece of clear Scotch tape to the ftpg. & an archival mend to pg. 3, otherwise in very nice condition
