July 20, 1804

NEW ENGLAND PALLADIUM, July 20, 1804  All columns on all 4 pages are black-bordered for the death of Alexander Hamilton who died in the duel with Aaron Burr. The middle of the front page has "General Hamilton" with a preface: "On the subject of the distressing event of Gen. Hamilton's death, the following letter has been written by the Right Rev. Bishop Moore." taking most of a column. If is followed by: "Testimony of Respect & Regret".
Most of pg. 2 is taken up with correspondence between Hamilton and Bull the day or two prior to the duel (see for portions), and there is also a nice report on the "Funeral of General Hamilton--Order of Procession--The Corpse..." with much more. All of this consumes page 2, and page 3 includes the Will of Hamilton, signed  by him in type: Alexander Hamilton.
Four pages, a few small wear holes at fold junctures, some loss to the right margin of the back leaf affects only ads, scattered foxing.
