February 22, 1811

THE REPERTORY, Boston, Massachusetts, February 22, 1881  The front page of this issue features an article "BLACK BEARD -- The Pirate" which is an interesting information as to the current play which was being held, however as one reads on, it is stated that "From this outline it would appear that the represented spectacle by no means illustates (illustrates) the truth of the history... We cannot conclude without remarking, that Black Beard is so monstrous a progeny of distempered fancy, that we imagine it can only be admired by those, whose sickly appetites have been debased, by a perusal of the worst kind of novels and romanees." An advertisement and an editorial of the play are also in this issue.

Page two reports the "Order reestablished in the Mississippi Territory" and "Invasion of Florida". Other news of the day, advertisements along with illustrated ship ads are within the issue.

This is complete in four pages with a slight irregular left spine, a small hole is through the entire issue at a crease line which does cause some text loss, and some lite foxing, otherwise in good condition. See photos for details.
