This issue reports one of the more notable events in boxing history, as 22 year-old Cassius Clay was about to take the heavyweight title by a surprise victory over Sonny Liston.
Not much needs to be said about Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali after conversation to the Nation of Islam later in 1964) as he remains one of the more colorful personalities in the world of sports. In 1999 Sports Illustrated crowned him "Sports Personality of the Century" which says it all.
