July 13, 1772
THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, July 13, 1772
* Rare Colonial Pennsylvania
* Nice masthead for display
The prime feature of this issue is the displayability, as the masthead is one of the more beautiful of the colonial era (see), and this is a defective issue. The ftpg. has an interesting article on the need for a married couple to be: "...to some degree of equality with respect to age and condition...", plus some ads.
Although the back leaf of the issue is lacking, attached is the single sheet "Supplement" issue, which happens to contains on the front page a nearly full column of four illustrated "Reward" ads for runaway ads with detailed descriptions (see photos). The back page of the Supplement is mostly advertisements.
An old archival mend to the front page, never-trimmed margins, strengthening at the blank spine margin, and lacking the second leaf as noted.
