* Hatfield and McCoy hillbilly feud of Kentucky and West Virginia
* Rare to find reporting on this
Although thought by many to be more lore than fact, the Hatfield - McCoy feud of the late 19th century was very much reality & occasionally made the newspapers. Here is a great report on the front page (rare), headed: "Another Bloody Meeting" "More Slaughter in the Hatfield - McCoy Vendetta". Although not a lengthy report, it reads great, portions including: "...a party of about thirty McCoys came across the Blumfield camp in the woods near Green Shoals. The McCoys crawled though the underbrush & poured in a volley on their sleeping foes...After dawn the Hatfields found to more dead men & four desperately wounded men were captured. One of the four died & the three others will be shot to-day..." (see).
Eight pages, a little spine wear, otherwise nice. Should be handled with care.
