THE NEW YORK TIMES, Aug. 6, 1962 Curiously, one of the most desired "death" reports we get requests for is the death of Marilyn Monroe. And unlike the death of various Presidents which were saved by the millions, few people kept the issue of Marilyn Monroe's death, making it a very scarce newspaper to find.
We are pleased to offer this report in this venerable newspaper and arguably the most famous newspaper in the country.
The top of the front page has a 3 column head: "Marilyn Monroe Dies, Pills Near" with two subheads: "Police Say She Left No Notes--Official Verdict Delayed" and "Star's Body Is Found in Bedroom of Her Home on Coast". There is also a one column photo of her (see).
The article continues on to page 13 where there is much more coverage, including a banner headline: "Brilliant Stardom and Personal Tragedy Punctuated the Life of Marilyn Monroe" and additional subheads, plus there are 6 photos of her with Joe DiMaggio, Arthur Miller among them (see).
This is the complete issue with both sections, never bound, minimal wear at the right margin and a light bit of toning at the fold & right margin. Generally in nice condition.
