THE PENNSYLVANIA PACKET & GENERAL ADVERTISER, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Aug. 17, 1772
* Rare Colonial PA title
* Nice masthead engraving
Always one of my favorite titles from the pre-war era as the masthead is extremely ornate & features a large engraving of a sailing ship. But this is a damaged issue as a 3 by 8 inch piece was cut from the bottom of the back leaf. Still displayable as the there is no damage to the front leaf.
Half of the ftpg. is taken up with ads, an illus. horse ad & a "Five Pounds Reward" for a runaway indentured servant & another: "Ten Dollars Reward" for the same, among them. The back page has 2 illustrated runaway reward ads.
Four pages, an archival mend at the spine & other than the back leaf loss in nice condition.
