NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, October 22, 1910 Page 7 of this issue has a column wide headline "Hall of Fame Open to 11" with subheads "Edgar Allan Poe Second in List with Oliver Wendell Holmes" "Authors Come to Front" "Now Hold Lead Over Statesmen In Numbers -- Harriet Beecher Stowe Gets Largest Vote". Poe came within nine votes of getting an election in 1905.
The front page features photos of "Aviators Ready for the Big Meet at Belmont Park" and articles "Serious Alarm For Balloonists - America II, Dusseldor II and Azurea Thought Lost in Wilds of Canada - May Have Fallen in Lakes" and "Frisbie Takes Air Route to the Field - Flies to Belmont Park, but Doesn't Know Whether He Is a Licensed Aviator - Arch Hoxsey a Daredevil".
