June 18, 1873

CLEVELAND LEADER, Ohio, June 18, 1873  Among the one column heads at the top of the front page is: "The Trial of Susan B. Anthony for Illegal Voting" as well as: "The Apaches On The War Path" "Hanging of a Horse Thief in Missouri by a Mob" "Lynching of Four Negro Murderers in Louisiana". A separate front page article: "Woman Suffrage--The Trial of Susan B. Anthony" which reports on the summation of the defense's comments, as the verdict of "guilty" would be found in the next day's newspaper. Interesting that the report ends with: "...He insisted that the time had come when the civil and political rights of women should be placed upon a perfect equality with men." (see)
Four pages, large folio size, nice condition.
