GAZETTE OF THE UNITED STATES, Philadelphia, December 19, 1792

* President George Washington & the Presidential election

The top of the front page is headed with an engraving of a heraldic eagle, has: "By the President of the United States of America - A PROCLAMATION" concerning lawlessness on the western frontier of Georgia (see photos), signed in type: G. Washington, and also by: Th. Jefferson. The top of the 3rd page has a significant report on Washington's second election as President: "The electors of President and Vice President for the State of New Hampshire having given an unanimous vote for George Washington and John Adams; it appears that those gentlemen are re-elected President and Vice President of the United States." (see photos). Also an interesting item relating to Kentucky joined the union: "The state of Kentucky having increased the number of the emblematic stars, & afforded an opportunity of arranging them in a new form..." with an illustration showing the stars for the U.S. flag in a pyramid formation (see photos).

Complete in four pages, this issue is in very nice condition.
