FEDERAL ORRERY, Boston, Jan. 8, 1795 Certainly one of the less common titles from the 18th century, with a masthead engraving of an "orrery", the sun surrounded by stars.This is a volume 1 issue. Page 3 has: "A Proclamation: By the President of the United States of America" in which he calls for a day of thanksgiving and prayer "...to the great Ruler of nations for the manifold & signal mercies..for the preservation of peace, foreign & domestic; for the seasonable control which has been given to a spirit of disorder, in the suppression of the late insurrection; [reference to the Whiskey Rebellion] and generally for the prosperous course of our affairs public & private..." with more (see), signed in type: Geo. Washington.
