THE MORNING REPUBLICAN, Scranton, Pennsylvania, Sept. 8, 1876
* Jesse James gang
* Northfield, Minnesota raid
* Bank robbery
Over half of a column on the front page is taken up with a nice account of the Northfield Bank robbery, headed: "CRIMINAL" "Bold Attempt To Rob A Bank" with subheads including: "A Gang of Masked, Armed & Mounted Men...in Broad Daylight & Attempt to Rob the Bank - The Cashier Killed--Citizens in Pursuit of the Fleeing Villains..." with more. The photos show the full report with much detail on the robbery. Although not mentioned by name this was the work of the James and Younger gang of outlaws.
Four pages, a small piece from the left margin of the front leaf affects some text but not closes to the mentioned article, a few discreet archival mends to inside margins, generally nice condition.
