December 28, 1864

NEW YORK HERALD, Dec. 28, 1864

* General William T. Sherman
* Savannah GA Georgia captured

Among the many first column heads on the Civil War are: "SHERMAN" "The Capture of Savannah" "How Hardee Left" "Our Occupation Of The City" "The March Through Georgia" "His Account Written on the Back of Rebel Bank Bills" "A Portion of Sherman's Force Moving Towards the Altamaha River" "Sherman's Forces In Motion" and more. The entire front page & portions of the back page are taken up with much detail on the capture of Savannah, etc.
Eight pages, archival mend to pg. 2 not noticeable on the ftpg., a small piece from the bottom of the back leaf, generally nice.
