EDINBURGH EVENING COURANT, Scotland, March 30, 1776 Page 2 includes a list of promotions in the British military including several names famous for their exploits in the Revolutionary War, including "Major-General William Howe...Major-General Guy Carleton to be General in America only...Major-General Henry Clinton to be Lt. General in America only; Major General John Burgoyne to be ditto; Major General Charles Earl Cornwallis to be ditto..." and others (see).
Page 2 also has a letter from New York which has various reports on the war (see), and also: "We hear from New York that very great disagreement prevails between the Provincial Congress...Hancock is soon expected here. General Lee is at New York with from 2600 to 3000 men..." and other items.
Four pages, folio size, red tax stamp on the front page, nice condition.
