And this headline remains among the most historic in presidential history with a front page bold, banner head reading simply: "Nixon Resigns" and a 1 line, 6 column subhead: "Ford Assumes Presidency Today". The front page photo is captioned: "President Nixon and daughter Julie embracing Wednesday after the President's decision to resign."
