NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, Jan. 19, 1843 The entire first column on the ftpg. is: "The Electro-Magnetic Telegraph" which begins: "We have before spoken of the principles on which the invention of Prof. S.F.B. Morse, of this city, for the instantaneous transmission of intelligence to distant places, & of the strong probability that it would prove some day to be of decided utility...". An early report on this invention, the year before his famous "What hath God wrought?" transmission.
Page 2 has a small notice: "For President, HENRY CLAY, of Kentucky". Four pages, loss to a lower blank corner, some damp staining, tape at the blank spine.
