The top of the front page carries a two column wide, two line headline: "Pershing Honors Stubby, Mascot of A. E. F.; Pins Medal on Dog Hero of 17 Battles". This is a fascinating report of an interesting dog, having become quite famous as the most decorated war dog of World War I, and the only dog to be promoted to sergeant through combat. Complete in 28 pages with some non-archival tape mends at the edges scattered inside the issue, a library stamp on the masthead and a mailing address stamp in the upper right corner. Light browning, good condition.
