July 07, 1921

THE NEW YORK TIMES, July 7, 1921  Page four of this issue carries a one column article: "Pershing Honors Stubby, Mascot of A. E. F.; Pins Medal on Dog Hero of 17 Battles", "Wounded at Seichepry", "Wears Many Decorations and is Life Member of YMCA, Red Cross and American Legion".
This is a fascinating report of an interesting dog, having become quite famous as the most decorated war dog of World War  I, and the only dog to be promoted to sergeant through combat. See the hyperlink on Stubby for much more on famous & heroic life.
Complete in 32 pages with and irregular spine, some chipping at the edges and an archival mend to the first two leaves. Should be handled with care.
