March 10, 1801
THE SALEM GAZETTE, Massachusetts, March 10, 1801 The front page has an interesting tongue-in-cheek criticism of the expiration of the Sedition Act of 1798. It begins: "Yesterday expired, Deeply regretted by millions of grateful Americans & by all good men; the Federal administration or the government of the United States..." with much more. It is dated March 4, 1801, and the Sedition Act expired on March 3.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, some damp staining, generally good.
