July 20, 1859

THE NEW YORK TIMES, July 20, 1859  The front page features a quite large map headed: "THE BATTLE-FIELD OF SOLFERINO" with a lengthy sub-heading. There is also much text on the battle, which takes up the remainder of the front page, with first column heads including: "Plan And Particulars of the BATTLE OF SOLFERINO" "From Military Drawings Made on the Spot" "The Positions of the French, Sardinian and Austrian Armies, Respectively, with their Movements during the Day". This text carries over to page 2 as well.

Complete in 8 pages with several tiny binding holes along the left spine, a small area of lite dampstaining in the upper left corner, a few small edge tears, otherwise in good condition. A very displayable issue.
