CHICAGO'S AMERICAN, Nov. 22, 1963
* John F. Kennedy shot
* Early, still alive report
The bold, banner headline is a very early report on the assassination of John F. Kennedy, reading: "JFK SHOT, NEAR DEATH" with a subhead: "Connally Also Wounded in Dallas Parade". Rarely do we find issues reporting the assassination attempt with the President still alive by press time.
The only content on the assassination is a relatively small article on the right side of the front page. This text does include: "...Clint Hill, a secret service agent assigned to Mrs. Kennedy, said 'He's dead', as the President was lifted from the rear of a White House touring car...Other White House officials were in doubt as the corridors of the hospital erupted in pandemonium...".
Complete in 40 pages with both sections. Some very light damp staining, mostly to the left side, mild margin wear, generally good.
