THE PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, Sept. 22, 1862 A nice issue on this historic Battle of Antietam, with a nice map headed: "THE BATTLE FIELD OF ANTIETAM, Wednesday, September 17th, 1862". This was the bloodiest day of the Civil War with both sides loosing over 10,000 men in killed & wounded.
The front page has many one column heads including: "The War For The Union!" "Our Victory In Maryland" "Escape of the Rebels Across the Potomac" "Occupation of the Virginia Side by Gen. Morrell's Corps" "No More Troops To Start For Harrisburg" "The Battle Of Antietam" and even more.
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, two small holes to the front leaf affect a few words, various tears to the inside pages, wear with margins tears to the front leaf, various archival mends inside.
