September 28, 1920

EVENING HERALD, Los Angeles, Sept. 28, 1920  Among the most desired reports in all of baseball history are those covering the infamous "Black Sox" World Series scandal of 1919, in which players of the Chicago White Sox were accused as gambling on the games. And of the many such newspapers we have offered, this front page banner headline might be among the very best.
"8 WHITE SOX PLAYERS INDICTED AS GAMBLERS" with a first column subhead: "Drop Chicago Stars, Cinch Pennant for Cleveland" and also: "Comisky Suspends Players Accused by Grand Jury; McGraw to Testify".
This is an incomplete issue, containing only pages 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 & 10. But it on page 9 where the front page article continues, with various mini-heads relating to the players. Loose at the spine, very nice, clean condition. Certainly a terrific item for display!
