FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, Aug. 1, 1885 A banner reading: "GRANT" is printed across the masthead in a black box due to the death of this president, with the entire ftpg. taken up with an illustration captioned: "A Great Life Ended. The Death of General U.S. Grant. The Sculptor Preparing to Take the Death Mask." (see).
The doublepage centerfold is captioned: "...The Death of General U.S. Grant...The Deathbed Scene." plus there is another page with 2 prints showing Grant in his last days. (see).
