* Outlaw Jesse James assassination
Near the bottom of the front page is a short article: "Jesse James Relics" noting: "...this afternoon the household goods & personal effects of the late Jesse James were sold at auction at his old home...several thousand people had gathered about the house...a large sum of money was realized...six cane-bottom chairs sold for $2 each...the one on which the outlaw was standing when he received the fatal bullet sold for $5..." and more. An interesting article.
Page 2 has: "Missouri's Bandit - How His Taking Off is Viewed" with various items concerning the death of Jesse James, which happened just 8 days prior (see). And pg. 11 has over a full column: "Stilson Hutchins on the Career of Jesse James" which begins: "There may have been more daring & desperate men in the olden time than Jesse James, the Missouri bandit who was assassinated last Monday at St. Joseph, but it is not probable that for audacity, for cool, calculating courage & resources of skill & endurance, his equal has either been seen during the last 20 years..." with much more great content.
Page 12 very nice condition.
