SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, October 12, 1907 The frontpage features two almost comical photos of an early attempt at an airplane, called: "The Gammeter Orthopter". Another caption notes: "A New Beating-Wing Flying Machine, a Competitor for the Scientific American Trophy." Interesting that this bizarre concept was a consideration four years after the Wright brothers' flight.
Other articles are: "War Cars, Ancient and Modern"; "How to Prevent Failure in Concrete Construction"; "Blood Pressure and Mental Conditions"; and other articles and advertisements.
Complete in sixteen pages and in nice condition.
