* Al 'Scarface' Capone
* "Librarian of Alcatraz ?"
The front page has a interesting and somewhat bizarre article with a one column heading: "Capone Is Made the Librarian of Alcatraz Prison" See image for the text on a report that I cannot find any reference to on the internet that suggests Capone took this position at the time. Was it a bogus report ? Strange to think one of the most ruthless gangsters of all time would be a librarian, even if it was in prison. I suspect this is one of the few publications to report this particular event as other titles in our inventory do not. Rare as such.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 26 pages, light toning, some margin swear and chipping, otherwise in generally good condition.
