The ftpg. is dominated by a nice map headed: "THE NAVAL BATTLE IN HAMPTON ROADS. Map of Fortress Monroe, Norfolk, and Portsmouth, Showing the Position of the Vessels engaged in the late Fight".
The ftpg. has a report concerning the historic battle of the ironclads: "...The Merrimac was first seen from Fortress Monroe at 1 1/4 o'clock...the first shot was fired from the Cumberland. The Merrimac fired two shots in reply..." with more. Pg. 4 has a nice article: "The Naval Battle In Hampton Roads" with more on the Monitor & Merrimac (see), and: "The Monitor As A Monitor" and also: "The Monitor & the Merrimac"" with much detail.
As if all this was not sufficient for one issue, page 7 has two very lengthy & detailed articles with heads: "The Fight In Hampton Roads" "Full Details of the Affair" "The Merrimac Still At Norfolk" "He Thinks the Merrimac Uninjured, & says she Can Get to Sea" "The Fight in Hampton Roads" "The Commander of the Merrimac Wounded" and more (see).
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed so it folds out to one large sheet, a few discrete archival mends at fold junctures, nice condition.
