NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, June 24, 1815 Inside has nearly 8 pages taken up with: "War Events: Or Things Incidental to the Late War" which begins with some talk on the: "Dartmoor Prison" massacre, which begins: "The newspapers teem with details of the shocking massacre of our people in this depot, by the infamous Shortland...".
Other subheads under "War Events" include: "Description of Dartmoor, England" "The Constitution and Captain Stewart" which concerns the encounter with the Cyane; "Indian Affairs" & "The Battle on Lake Champlain".
Included is the 8 page "Supplement" which has 3 pages taken up with the: "New French Constitution" signed by the emperor: Napoleon.
Complete in 24 pages with the Supplement, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, lite scattered foxing, otherwise in good condition.
This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century.
