CHICAGO DAILY TRIBUNE, April 6, 1932
* Charles Lindbergh Jr. baby kidnapping case
* Bizarre headline suggests all is well
This was one of the most famous crime mysteries of the 20th century which ended with the execution of Bruno Hauptmann. Here is a very odd banner headline that suggests the Lindbergh baby was safe with: "REPORT 'LINDY BABY HOME'" and subhead: "Nursery Light Kindles Talk Search Is Over" (see) This was just over a month after the kidnapping and about a month before the finding. A great curiosity headline for display here. Also a coincidence that this publication made a similar error in it's front page headline 16 years later with the famous "Dewey Defeats Truman" issue.
Complete 1st section only with all 24 pages, this is the "rag edition" printed on very high quality newsprint meant for the requirements of institutional holdings consequently in great condition. Four small binding holes at the blank spine.
