Nineteenth century newspapers from Florida are uncommon, particularly those from before the Civil War. Here is such an issue from the capital city of Florida, 12 years before the outbreak of the Civil War.
On the front page under "By Authority" are the "Acts and Resolutions, passed at the Second Session of the Thirtieth Congress..", signed in type: James K. Polk.
The front page also has a poem: "Resignation. By Henry W. Longfellow." There is also a list of "Poor Richard's Sayings".
Other news and content, some ads. Large area of dampstaining in the upper half, otherwise in nice condition. 4 pages.
