* General George Washington to resign?

The second page has an Extract of a Letter from Whitehaven"  that says: "...General Washington has for some time differed in sentiment from the Congress...and that advice has been received of the General's having declared his intention to resign his commission as Commander in Chief of the troops in service of the United States."
The sixth page has an "Extract of a Letter from an Officer in Canada" that includes: "...letters...received from America agree...that there are great dissensions in Congress, between the Delegates of the northern and southern provinces; the New England men want to get  Washington removed from the command of the army, and to appoint Gen. Green..." and more (see).

Complete in 8 pages, measures 11 by 8 1/4, very good condition.
