NEW YORK SEMI-WEEKLY TRIBUNE, New York, September 22, 1849
* Wild West
* Gold Rush era
* Indians
Page 3 has a lengthy article taking nearly 2 columns headed: "Later From Santa Fe" "Fight with the Indians" which includes a letter datelined from Santa Fe, and another from "Green Horn Village, Base of the Rocky Mountains" (see for portions). Both letters, and the additional reporting, providing some fascinating reading.
Page 3 also has nearly a full column headed: "Our California Letters" "Ride to the Presidio--Dinners in California--Pueblo San Jose--Col. Fremont" and "Cost of Living--Benecia--New Towns" (see for portions).
Four pages, minor loss at the blank spine margin otherwise very nice.
