October 20, 1854
NEW YORK TIMES, October 20, 1854  The main feature of this issue is the rather inconspicuous, but noteworthy report on page 3, announcing the laying of the cornerstone of the renowned Fifth Street Baptist Church, later to be known as "The Rockefeller Church".  The architects of the fine example of Byzantine Architecture were Henry Engelbert, and his office partner, John Edson.  Many prominent pastors of the period were present and/or involved in the ceremonies.
The issue is complete in 8 pages, has minor foxing, but is quite nice (see images). Great to have this report in a New York newspaper.
