As noted in the masthead this was the: "Gazette of The Regular & Volunteer Forces" and as such is replete with military news of all sorts.
The front page has: "The Campaign In Tennessee" which carries over to page 2 & 3 with subheads: "The Battle of Nashville" and "Second Day of Battle". Also in this issue are; "The Campaign  In Georgia" "The Campaign In Virginia" "The Essential Principle of Army Discipline" "A Letter From General Rosecrans" is signed by him in type: W. S. Rosecrans; "Official Instructions to the Commander of the Florida" "Where Are the Surgeons?" "The Evils of the Recruiting System" "The March Through Georgia" has much on Sherman; "The Battle of Nashville" "Vice-Admiral Farragut" and much more.
Near the back are a variety of dispatches, announcements as well as a letter signed by the President: Abraham Lincoln, headed: "Call For 300,000 Troops - A Proclamation" (see).
Sixteen pages, 10 by 14 1/3 inches, nice eagle in the masthead, nice condition.
