Inside the issue is a full page illustration "The Physician" and halfpage illustrations "Fashionable Novelties in Fans and Ornaments" and "Wreck of the Mail Steamer Mei Kong Near Cape Gardafui on the Coast of Africa". The back page features smaller illustrations "A Cossack Outpost on the Danube" and "The Steamer State of New York, of the New York and Hartford Line". This issue also contains articles and advertisements, some of which are illustrated.

This is complete in eight pages measuring approximately 20 x 14 inches, with a slight irregular spine and lower left corner region. There are some non-archival mends within the issue, otherwise in good condition.
